Diamonds were Bella Hadid’s best friend as she stepped out in the French Riviera on Tuesday night. Just hours after she was photographed at the iconic Hotel Martinez in a vintage nude Gucci gown with back cutouts, the style queen of the Cannes Film Festival continued her sartorial reign with a Y2K-era sleek silver dress that was encrusted with jewels and featured the lowest plunging back.
Trading in her ivory number from earlier that day, the Ôrəbella perfume founder went glam in the slinky silk gown for the Chopard “Once Upon A Time” evening event on May 21. The figure-hugging dress–a piece from Dsquared2’s Fall 2006 ready-to-wear collection, according to Vogue–looked like an elevated version of the classic 2000s prom dress, featuring crystal-encrusted detailing along the bodice and dramatic bedazzled straps that offset the gown’s extremely low back. The subtle cutouts on the side, the deep V neckline, and the short train–which offered a glimpse of metallic peep toe heels–also nodded to the dress’s throwback roots.

The model iced herself with Chopard jewels for the event, complementing the dress’s silvery hue with diamond drop earrings, a sparkly statement necklace, and pear-shaped diamond rings. She let the pieces take center stage, styling her signature sleek bun with a very Y2K-esque deep side part. A dusting of silvery eyeshadow, sculpted cheeks, and a nude lip completed her red carpet outfit.

Hadid’s Cannes fashion parade, which comes two years after her last appearance at the star-studded film festival, proves she hasn't lost her touch. In addition to her Y2K number, other notable Cannes outfits include a very, very naked Saint Laurent dress and a butter yellow minidress featuring the season’s trendiest colors.
