Madonna Made a Rare Red Carpet Appearance With Her Kids

Last night, the Deadpool & Wolverine red carpet was the place to be, with Blake Lively and bestie Gigi Hadid outshining the film's actual star Ryan Reynolds in a cute couple moment (and what might have been an even better after-party look). Hadid's appearance and mustard-yellow 'fit wasn't the only headline-making surprise appearance, however. Madonna arrived on the red carpet with her kids in tow, making for the sweetest mommy-and-me moment for a superstar mom that rarely offers up a glimpse at her kiddos.

Madonna's twins, Estere and Stella, posed with their mother on the carpet, and they managed to get a photo opp with stars Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, as well as director Shawn Levy. While Madonna wore all-black-everything for the event, including a pair of oversized sunglasses and a plunging blazer dress, her kids went casual, wearing slouchy pants and shorts with big, boxy tops. Madonna adopted Estere and Stella in 2017 when they were 5 years old. The singer is also mom to daughter Mercy James, son David Banda, daughter Lourdes, and son Rocco.

"Down on our knees," Marvel's official X account posted after the red carpet, referencing Madonna's iconic track "Like a Prayer," which features heavily in the film and its trailers.

Reynolds opened up about how he managed to snag such an iconic song, explaining that it was anything but easy. In fact, it involved a face-to-face meeting of the masterminds, with Reynolds chatting with Madonna and convincing her to allow him to include the song in the film.

“Also, let's preface it with the fact that they don't license—Madonna doesn't just license the song, and particularly that song has not been licensed,” Reynolds said during a SiriusXM Town Hall. “So, it was a big deal to ask for it and certainly a bigger deal to use it...We went over and met with her and showed her how it was being used and where and why.”

He went on to say it was "one of the great thrills of my life."

"I even asked someone who worked with her—I was like, 'Am I allowed to just say Madonna?' Like, 'Hello, Madonna?'" he finished before noting that he considered introducing himself with, "I'm fucking Ryan."

Deadpool & Wolverine arrives in theaters Friday, "Like a Prayer" and all.
