If it feels like we just soaked up all the glitz and glamour from the Emmy Awards, it's because we did—thanks to the dual Hollywood strikes, last year's show didn't air until January. Well, nature is healing and things are back to the usual schedule, with the 2024 Emmy Awards set to air on September 15. Before the big night, however, this year's nominees were announced today by Tony Hale and Emmy winner Sheryl Lee Ralph, as well as Television Academy chairman Cris Abrego.

According to The Wrap and Variety, this year sees fewer nominees across the board because of fewer entries. Categories like Best Supporting Actor and Actress in both Comedy and Drama have fewer picks thanks to last year's production shutdowns and some surprising shuffling that came last-minute as several shows switched their categories from Best Limited Series to Drama.
Of course, while the Television Academy loves to hype up a beloved show (like Succession's record-breaking number of nominations in both 2023 and 2022), newcomers like Shōgun, Fallout, and Baby Reindeer are set to mix things up.
